High Speed Snake Robot
Hi All,

I wanted to share the results of my project, a high speed snake robot:

R2G2: Robot with Rectilinear Gait for Ground Operations

This robot uses exaggerated rectilinear gait to move through cluttered spaces. The new gait enables it to overcome limitations of slow speeds associated with the body undulation based locomotion.

It is composed of:

Arduino Mega Microcontroller
10 Hitec HS-7940TH Servomotors
8 Hitec HS-7950TH Servomotors

Hi & Welcome to the forum.

This is really good advancement in robotics. However, it would have been better if more detail about the robot was provided in the video. Also, 10 minutes on a full charge is steep. The better option should be wired control with an external power source which would make it last longer. For a prototype, the results are amazing Smile

For those of you who are looking for more information:

1) The actuators are servomotors
2) Each motor is directed by an on-board micro processor, but the robot is guided by RC signal
3) It last about 10 minutes on a full charge
4) It can operate using umbilical
